Last Race on 6-20-09 and next race 7-18-09

Well, everyone,

My last race was on June 20, 2009, and I wos wondering if I would ever get my car started, and once I did get it started, would I do any good. I say that, because when I got to the track and parked in my pit, I was going to unload my car from the trailer, and the son of a booger wouldn't fore up. So, I got my gas container out, and put a quick splash in the carburator, and started it up right away. I went out for one practice session, and it was acting like it did last time I race....strong down the straights, but sputtered coming out of the corners. I got a little help (A BIG help, actually) from another driver who knows a little bit about carburators. He started to adjust the carb, but the reservoir wasn't filling. No matter what he did, the chamber in the carb wouldn't fill up. So, on a hunch, he pulled off the fuel filter, andwhen he poured the remaining fuel in the filter.....all these wonderful little particles and crap cam falling out. My filter was clogged, preventing the fuel from getting to the carb, and starving it. So, after that, I went out for qualifying, and man...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I ran a full second faster in qualifying than I did in practice, and a few tenths of a second faster in the main. I ended up finishing 13th out of 13. I may not have won the race, but just finishing is as good as a victory for me. :-)

Now, my next race is going to be on Saturday, July 18th. There is a 100 lap SRL Race, along with my division, the Justice Brothers Mini Stocks, Classic Stocks and the Vista Paint Super Stocks. Come on out and see some great racing action. The 1/3 Mile racers (Mini Stocks and Classic Stocks), put on probably the better shows and make it more exciting for the fans in the stands. You can come out and bring the family and kids, friends, friends of friends.....the more the merrier! :-) There's stuff for the kids like a jump house, MiMi the clown who is there and will paint the kids faces (or the parents) free of charge. There's also a bar area just inside the front entrance and also one in the chalet. There's also some great food there from various vendors.....and even the regular concessions. Hope to see you out there..........and come and cheer me on. I'll be in the Mini Stocks car #13, a 1976 Mustang II.
