Saturday Night Racing at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale - 9/20/08

Well, here we are again. Time for me to hype up this weekends races at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. Last race for me on Sept. 6, was a good outing for me. My friends, Tory and Aaricka, sabotaged my tires and somehow, I went faster around the track than I did before. Most of this season, I have been averaging in the mid 19 seconds per lap. Last race out, I got down to 18.5 per lap. Not bad....especially with tire pressures a little higher and putting more foot in the throttle in the turns. Including this weekend, the Mini Stocks have 2 races left. We race this weekend, and our last race, which is also Double points, if I remember right, is on Oct. 4th.

Come on out and see the best short track racing, this side of the Atlantic. It is Pipe Trades Night, and all kids 15 and under get in free! Tix are just $15. You can get tix at the box office or you can buy them online and print them up on your own computer printer.

Enjoy the great food at the speedway like Margie's Schuck Wagon, get a funnel cake or a smoothie of your choice or get some of the fine sausages from Martin's Louisiana sausages. King Taco is there as well, so you get some King Taco tacos or burritos and even nachos. There is also the regular concession foods like hot dogs, nachos, burgers, fries and sodas. If you like alcohol, they do have beer and wine at the concessions, but there is also a bar area in the chalet as well.


Come on down and watch me in the #13 Mini Stock, Tory Christopher (Former T-Bird in the 80's) in the #01 Toyota Mini Stock as we race, see who will win in the Legends cars, super trucks, West Coast Pro Trucks, have a blast watching the figure 8's and then the all female Demolition Derby.

Thanks, guys! I'm gonna go out there and have some FUN! LOL
I took my car to the shop where we have been maintaining the car, and we did a little "tweaking" of the car. Hopefully I'll get a little more Horsepower out of the engine that's in there. We made a change in the gap in the spark plugs, adjusted the timing, corrected the toeout on my front wheels, adjusted the carburator a little......so I'm good to go. I just have to recharge the battery tomorrow when I get back home from work. Then I just gotta put a little more gas in the tank to make sure I can last the entire race. Hoefully, I'll get my times faster than the last time out. I'm shooting for the 17 second range now. :-)
