ATKINSON WAS HERE! New experience for Cincinnati Roller Girls!

The banked track game Sunday 18th 2009 will be a nearly completely new experience for Cincinnati. The Black Sheep bravely agreed to play the Wildfires on the banked track despite having only two skaters that have ever been on a banked track before. The SD Wildfires basically share a roster with the Swarm, SDDD’s banked track team that is currently undefeated in the LA Derby Dolls' 2009 season, so they're much more experienced on the slope. All the differerence in the world. I find that most derby girls are skating on boots/plates well below their ability levels. Most are also very hesitant to upgrade and change. WOW!!! That's what I was saying at the end of the game that night. I took the 365 mile trip to Pleasanton and the Alameda County Fairgrounds to see the San Francisco Bay Bombers take on Mizz Georgia Hase's Brooklyn Red Devils. The game didn't disappont, either.
