Great game, but I think the Pioneers had the advantage! Vallow, Peterson, Eric, Miller vs Weston, Cochu and Tucker. Bombers needed a stronger skater such as a Vega or Juanita Ricardo,

I also went down to see Rollerjam in Orlando. I went down for a bunch of tapings in February (I don't remember the year). That was the only reason why I went down there. It wouldn't come to me so I went down there. I got to meet a bunch of skaters. It really was a great time. At that time, it started to get very predictable and as much as I loved the game, I felt like it was the beginning of the end. I knew they wanted to become as popular as Wrestling but I just didn't agree with how they were doing it. (when I mention "they", I am not referring to the skaters but whoever was calling the shots behind the scenes). Rollerjam had some of the best skaters I've ever seen in the sport and felt they deserved alot more than what they got. There were so MANY things I would've done differently but....what do I know - I'm just a fan - lol.

Hi Rich-
I remember the Commack Arena. My parents would take me there too see Derby. I also went to the last games at Madison Square Garden. I'm pretty sure it was 1987. When BJ Peterson came out in the introduction ceremony, I was at trackside with roses and gave them to her. I'm a big fan of the game and felt there was a chance for it to get big again with Rollerjam but there was alot missing that really should've been included. It just started to get too predictable, too corny and the addition of storylines were horrible. I know it's a money issue but I really feel that Roller Derby can make a comeback if the money is invested and it's done the right way.

Also loved Pokey Truman!

Hi Rich

Your welcome Rich.
Out of all the games I have skated, skating at Madison Square Gardens was the best and most memorable. Vicky Steppie and I did have a BLAST.

Hi Rich

My top opponent was Randi Whitman she was a tricky one. We skated inter league once it was the t-birds against the bay bombers. My favorite all time skater Judy Sowinski she was so tough. Love her skating style.

Thanks Rich take care talk to you soon

Jan is very ill right now, but what I meant was her gf, Sherry never got along with management.

Skaters are always friendly to a fan or outsider. We spent our entire skating careers putting on a show JUST for the fans. But their real personalities are exposed to other skaters and mostly to management. There are few skaters who are like what you saw on TV.

In Rollergames, a skater like Sherry E would have other girls already in Rollergames to bring her in and deal with all the baggage and problems that would follow.

Hey Rich,
Growing up, my favorite team to watch was The Warriors, as my parents and many greats were on that team and they were bigger than life. I wasn't choosing based on teams for which I had skated or my tv exposure. But the Quakes were my favorite to skate with and I loved all the fans. You are never forgotten of course.
Thanks,
Sean
