January 2, 2008 -- The Coney Island board walk boutique owner who led a community fight to keep condos out of the fabled amusement dis trict now wants to enliven the area with a new roller- skating rink.

Ah well, as of today, no reason to worry about KCRW. They got beat out by Duke City in a stunning upset. Snot Rocket wasn't able to make it on Friday, but honestly, she doesn't really jam any more, I'm told. Duke City just outplayed 'em.

I'm thinking TXRG, Rat City, B.A.D. Girls are the real dangers there (maybe Rose City if they manage an upset) from the West. Though actually, Windy City is I think the one tough team that could give you a run for your money this year.

I wish they'd announce which states are in which new regions. I know it isn't hitting us out here, but it'd be nice to see something official. After Nationals, I'd think.

That was a tough break how they went into that one ranked number one in East and the team which had (nine months earlier) gotten to fourth in the West turned out to be the eventual champions.

KCRW is a very SMART operation. In a tourney they don't go after a blowout. They seem to do JUST what they need to do to win. Maybe keeps 'em in better shape for the next one.

I think the B.A.D. Girls may well turn out to be a new powerhouse in the West. From what I've seen, they're actually close in style to Rat City, interesting how their bout against each other went.

Prediction: Gotham stomps everyone at Eastern Regionals again. Carolina, Windy City and either Detroit, Philly or Boston come along with them to Portland.

I'm favoring Gotham to win in Nationals, but you never know. Lotsa strong teams out west. TXRG, KCRW, Rat City, B.A.D. Girls, etc.

Yes, I still skate for the T-Birds. They are my favorite team. I have kept in touch with a lot of the skaters over the years. Some of them I still skate with.

Rollerjam had a big part in the female leagues getting together. I think it's great! My girls know how to skate, but they're not passionate about it like I am. Thanks for your support!
