Replying to anything on this website is an excruciating experience as it moves maddeningly slowly.
I am a television producer and syndicator. I have been in television since 1975, which gives me 35 years of experience from which to draw upon.
It is obvious from the latest "headline" on the home page of this website concerning the mixed martial arts/boxing reference that Mr. Sams still thinks that the wrestling audience is the roller derby audience. He thought this before, and the result was rollerjam. Whatever he is planning now, it is my opinion, will not be roller derby, but more like the previous rollerjam incarnation.
Be that as it may, my estimate of the roller derby base for viewers is probably in the thousands, and hardly strong enough to support a revised roller derby/games. The television version of roller derby/games that was syndicated many decades ago was used to support live appearances, much as wrestling uses their television shows today, except that the wrestling target is not live shows anymore but pay-per-view events.
This is no longer possible with roller derby.
I am in possession of all the 2" masters of the last two real roller derby seasons, 1973 and 1977-78. Many are complete games. I have made new masters directly from the 2" masters, and I will be offering dvds of these games on my new website bang-o.com which should be up and running on September 10 of this year.
