It was one crazy fucking weekend !!!! So good to be up and rolling again and what an event to break my cherry again!
Beast of the East '09 at Arena St-Louis

16 home teams from around eastern Canada (and elsewhere) will compete in the second annual Beast of the East. Presented by WFTDA's newest member league, Montreal Roller Derby.
This is a unique tournament, in that it's for home (intraleague) teams.…

- I am a Dirty Harlot who spent too much tiime on all fours so I am currently out with the 9 month pregnancy injury incubating a future derby girl ..I am a ref and coach for this season with the Hammer City Roller Girls (www.hammercityrollergirls.ca) .. I love roller derby with all my heart and can't wait to get up and rolling again!
Update: I had my little Rollergirl.. Her name is Midian and she is my new favorite monster! I have been up and rolling again for about 2 months..The endurance needs to be worked on but Im on the fast track to getting my EH game back!:)

I probably should've seen them in San Diego. I met Staplehead and some others at RC. Nice folks of course, but that's involuntary, they're Canadians.

- I seem to recall that half-Canadians can have dual citizenship, which I vaguely remember having some interesting benefits. The biggest at the moment maybe being an easier time of crossing the border? Do they still allow dual citizenship? A couple of my friends had it back in the 80s back home. They couldn't be drafted, I think. Or they could easily hop the border if they were. Something like that.

- Hard for USAns like us to become a Canucks, no? Then again, I suppose marriage is always an option.
Anyways, small world, isn't it? Haven't yet met Staplehead, but she certainly seems nice over the intarweb.
Sour Cherry from Oil City was out here a few weeks back. She's doing some work on RollerCon this year, and is friends with Athena Barbital/Whiskey7 (who does flyer art for her league).
